Golden Eagle, updated 25/11/09

I have taken some screenshots of the modelling stages for my golden-Eagle render.

Here i used a picture of the golden eagle's head and used a plane to model and craft the head, the beak is fairly trickey to craft due to its unique curve and sharpness at the end.

Now the head has been completed I can start to craft the body and legs.

The leg was modelled seperately using an image of a chicken leg, I have adapted the claws to be slightly larger for my eagle.

Pumpkin + Lighting Renders

here i have used a pre-made Pumpkin object and applied advanced lighting techniques to give an eerie glow effect! I have also used photoshop to create a custom background.

3D Stamps - Moodboards

For my 3D stamp designs I have chosen to look at the idea of "Bio-Diversity" in a more specific view. By doing this I have thought about animals/plants and how they are 'linked' yet different in many ways, so I came up with the idea of how predators are similar in the way they hunt but are 'biologically' different.

I have looked at Eagles, Swordfish, venus Flytraps and TrapDoor Spiders. Each one of these predators use Speed, Agility and the element of surprise to catch prey in the wild. I feel this may be a good way of showing how predators are 'similar' yet 'diverse'.

Bio-Diversity Moodboard

Now that I understand what the brief requires for the assignment I have created a moodboard of image research into Biodiversity. This was a good chance for me to demonstrate my photoshop skills using blend and feather tool effects.

Here i have collected a large number of images which i feel are what biodiversity means and compiled them into one single image that will help me get a feel for what biodiversity looks like in modern life.

Human beings, plants, animals and micro-organisms are all part of the term biodiversity and it is only fitting that each of them are included in my moodboard. using categories similar to the moodboard I feel this will be a good idea for my stamps however I will only be able to select three.
